This was fixed by Sony with this file: sonycreativesoftware.com/support/files/qt7plug.dll click 1. start 2. my computer 3. c: 4. program files 5. sony 6. vegas movie studio 7. fileIO plug-ins once you get in to this folder, rename the current DLL to 'qtplug.dll.old' and save the new one in its place. I do not have either camera yet, I want to grab a Zi8 for the external mic option. Why can't you just take the video file and edit it in any editor you want like I currently do? I actually use a digital camera (Canon A590) and people are always asking me what video camera I use. They are quite surprised when I tell them it's NOT a video camera. I can edit that footage in any program, is'nt it the same way with video camera's? I feel like I am missing something here.
