Vlogging: Video Hosting Secrets Part 1

Video hosting can be an amazing way to boost your site. Youtube was the o.g. host in this category. That is why it hosts a majority of video content that is out there today. There is a lot to find out about video hosting and in order to be successful with your video marketing we will cover a few tips here.

Storage Limits

Make sure when you sign up for a video hosting site that you have enough space allocated for your videos. The limits on space can vary and you want to be certain that you will have enough space for your projects.

Uploading Formats

Make sure they accept the format that you need to use and upload. Having a service that doesn’t accept the format you need is not very helpful. Quicktime, MPEG, and Windows Media should be accepted. Other formats are AVI, MPEG4, WMV, Quicktime, H.246, DivX, DVD-Video, DVR-Vr, DVR-MS, and Everio.

Viewing Formats

Make sure your availability of viewing formats is decent. Flash is pretty much the standard for viewing but make sure the site allows other versions as well. There is also software available that can convert your video into Flash format.

Video Downloads

You don’t want your web hosting service to allow anonymous downloads of your content. Copyright laws are there to protect you and that’s what you deserve. You have to be the one to allow distribution.

Editing Capabilities

Many sites offer editing capabilities. If you like this option – keep your eyes open for this feature when selecting your hosting service.

Audience

Make sure your audience is your target. If the hosting site allows distasteful videos, it may not be the right target audience for you.

*These are just a few tips to take into consideration when video blogging/vlogging. Keep these points in mind while you search the right host for you.
